DESIGNER IVA PFEIFFER EXPLAINS WHY HER LATEST COLLECTION IS ENTITLED

TRANSLATIONS: Moving Between Cultures. Inspired by her recent journey to India where she learnt traditional block printing and indigo dye techniques, TRANSLATIONS also draws on traditions of Pfeiffer's homeland, the Czech Republic. Using materials that are environmentally sourced, and consistently employing ethical practices, Pfeiffer's work supports the local Indian culture and people she grew to love.

Showcasing her newest collection TRANSLATIONS: Design Moving Between Cultures, Czech-Australian designer Iva Pfeiffer conducted an exclusive fashion show at the Washington residence of Czech Ambassador to the US, Hynek Kmonitek, and his wife, Indira Gumarova, on 12 September 2017. RESORT WEAR RUNWAY AT MERCEDES BENZ FASHION WEEK AUSTRALIA

Resort Wear 2017 is truly unique. Iva Pfeiffer's designs are inspired by 1920s Orientalism, Korean traditional patchwork, and artists such as Sonia Delaunay and Paul Klee. Her garments feature layers of transparent organza, silk and her own unique patchwork.

REFUGEES COLLECTION RUNWAY

Iva Pfeiffer's refugee collection "Revolution, Adaptation, Resolution" at the Raffles Grad Show 2015. In 2011, Iva met Mori, an Iraqi-born Australian who arrived to Australia by boat during the years of the Second Iraq War which saw Australia commit thousands of soldiers to under the Howard Government.

ART OF FASHION FOUNDATION PARIS

Iva Pfeiffer was one of fifteen who was internationally selected for the Art of Fashion Foundation's design masterclass in Paris in 2014. She produced two highly detailed garments, which you can see in the video and which were exhibited in the Louvre, Paris (Musée Les Arts Décoratifs).
